Weekday daytime formation options include a weekly Wednesday morning Bible study at 10am.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study

Following a guide or commentary, this study group reads books of the Bible, examining their contexts and reflecting on their meaning in life today.  The group gathers at 10 for prayer, and then study and discussion until 11:45.  All are welcome.

Weeknight offerings for adult formation include the Education for Ministry program on Mondays at 6:30pm, a First Thursday Bible on Tap discussion for those in their 30s and 40s, and a Wednesday night Speaker Series during the season of Lent.

Weeknight Offerings:

Mondays (6:30-9pm) Education for Ministry

Seasonal offerings during Lent.

First Thursdays from 6:30-8pm: Bible on Tap

On the first Thursday of each month, The Rev. Ceci Duke gathers with all interested 30- and 40-somethings at the Iron Horse Tavern or other local establishment (check This Week at Christ Church for venue) in Norcross to relax, catch up, and discuss Scripture and Theology.

Christ Church offers seasonal programs for Advent and Lent, as well as longer Saturday morning workshops on special topics throughout the year. Workshops offer opportunities to experience spiritually forming practices that speak to our minds, bodies, and souls. Topics may incorporate artwork, dream work, lectures, or time in nature. Our Advent session occurs during the Sunday school hours in December and our Lenten series takes place on Wednesday evenings in the weeks leading to Easter. Contact Parish Administrator for more information.

Every baptized person is called to ministry.  The Education for Ministry (EfM) program, an extension of the School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, TN, provides people with the education to carry out that ministry and the opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service.  This is an exciting four-year course which explores the scriptures as well as church history, ethics and theology.  EfM runs for 34 sessions each year, from September through May and meets on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Parlor. For more information, please contact Dianne Olson or Ellen Lewis.

About the work of the Adult Education Committee

Christ Church Episcopal seeks to offer a range of options for you to deepen your faith by exploring new topics, engaging in meaningful conversations, and practicing some of the many ways we connect with the holy. We offer learning opportunities on weekends, weekdays, weeknights, and online. We invite you to join us in one or more of these classes this fall.

The Adult Education Committee seeks to provide a range of options for all adults who attend Christ Church to grow in knowledge and wisdom and to love and serve in Christ. If you have ideas for us to consider or would be interested in serving on the committee, please contact Tracy Iwaskow, Chair.
